What You’ll Do
As an Occupational Health Technician I, you’ll support clients throughout the occupational testing process while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Your responsibilities include:
- Welcome clients and create a positive first impression
- Guide clients through the intake, registration, and documentation process
- Verify client identification and maintain accurate records
- Perform drug and alcohol testing, including breath, urine, oral fluid, and hair specimen collection
- Assist with occupational health screenings and pre-employment testing services
- Follow strict chain-of-custody and testing procedures
- Ensure accurate documentation while maintaining confidentiality
- Support clinic operations, inventory management, and administrative tasks
- Communicate professionally with clients while providing exceptional customer service

Paid Training & Certifications

Within your first 3-6 months, you’ll complete certifications including:
- Audiometric Technician
- Spirometry Technician
- Personal Fitness Trainer Certification

Occupational Health Technician I is the first step in our technician career path.
As you gain experience and complete additional certifications, you’ll have opportunities to progress into Occupational Health Technician II and III roles with expanded responsibilities, advanced occupational testing, and professional development opportunities.
Work Environment
This position is primarily based in our Edmonton West clinic, with occasional travel to client locations when required.
This role may involve:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Collecting testing specimens
- Working in both clinic and industrial environments
- Occasional extended or modified work hours based on client needs
Pre-Employment Requirements
Because we work in safety-sensitive industries, successful candidates must complete:
- Pre-employment alcohol and drug testing
- Criminal Record Check
- Vulnerable Sector Check
